Prevent Golf Grip Slippage In Wet Weather

Prevent Golf Grip Slippage In Wet Weather

Spring is on the way to come, but spring day is always full of cold and damp air. Is there anything worse than swinging a golf club and feeling the club slipping in your hands? Because if that happens you’re pretty much guaranteed a terrible golf shot. And unless you’re Tiger Woods it is very hard to stop the swing when you’re in the downswing of a golf swing.

I have no idea how Tiger does that! Anyway, if you’re playing in the rain then naturally the chances of your grip slipping as you make your golf swing go up as well.

But there are simple solutions to this problem which don’t have to cost you anything. And the first solution is a dry towel.

When you play golf, besides carry your golf equipment, you should at least carry 1 extra golf towel. Ideally you should carry two extra golf towels however. And if you’re getting hot and sweaty or it’s raining then before and after every golf shot you should be wiping your golf grips and hands with one of your dry towels. Also, if it’s raining you’ll obviously have your umbrella up so I suggest that you keep your towel under the umbrella to try and keep it dry for as long as you can. Then when your towel is not doing a good enough jobs then simply put it back in your golf bag and get another dry towel out.

Now here’s a neat trick. Every two or three holes simply get some sand from the bunkers (or from the little buckets they give you to put in divots) and rub some of the sand on your hands and on your golf grips. This will help to absorb the sweat and it will help you to keep a firm golf grip as you’re swinging. If you’re a women golfer you may prefer to take some talcum powder with you to the golf course and put this on your hands instead of sand.

So the next time you play a game of golf where it is possibly going to rain and humid…or heaven forbid….both at the same time! Then make sure you take at least two towels and try your best to keep them dry. Then every golf hole or two put some sand on your hands and on your grips. Doing these little things will help you to keep your golf grip secure as you’re swinging the golf club. Because again, there’s nothing worse than going to play a golf shot and having your hands feel as though they are going to slip on the golf grip, is there?

Golf Carts In Modern Society

Golf Carts In Modern Society

Golf Carts – So Many Uses

Nowadays golf carts are not just an item found only at the neighborhood golf course. Not anymore. No sir! In fact, a number of people, to include those who don’t even golf, are finding – and taking pleasure in – the numerous benefits of owning their own multipurpose golf cart.

Yes, the golf cart’s primary role is to travel the links with greater speed. They also help alleviate back issues related to hauling heavy golf clubs. Carts also help speed-up play. And to keep a fast game pace, many courses mandate cart use. Sorry, a brisk walk simply won’t do! No matter if walking is better for you, the pace of the game is paramount.

Today, many senior citizen communities are engineered to include an active life using the golf cart. All the streets within these residential communities are specifically made for its citizens to get around in a cart! Residents have the freedom to use their carts in safety to go shopping, dining, and attend to other appointments, all in the comfort of their cart. In fact, carts are rapidly becoming their second car.

Golf carts are becoming regular occurrences at retail stores, construction sites, school campuses, events in the community; practically any place where people need basic transportation. Carts are also a godsend if walking would be a challenge or simply takes up too much time to get from one end to another.

Golf Cart Classifications

Golf carts are typically categorized into two camps: electric and those that run on gas. They each have their selling points based on the projected use it’ll receive.

Electric powered carts are excellent for the golf course. There, most driving is done on asphalted or well cared for cart paths. The electric units usually generate an adequate amount of power to navigate any steep slopes on the course. (Most of the time!)

Advances in modern batteries have extended the operating life of the latest batteries. Competition in the industry has resulted in technology that permits their golf carts to operate with little maintenance. This is a huge plus for people who aren’t mechanically inclined!

A gas powered vehicle is useful for those that would like a cart that can power through any kind of terrain. Taking the cart ‘Baha’ or where the path ends requires more horsepower than electric models provide. Gasoline powered units have the strength to take you places electric model dare not tread.

Best – And Worse – Place To Buy A Cart

If you intend on buying a cart where golf is a popular activity, the costs for carts will be higher. Locations like the Carolinas will generally command prime dollar for golf carts. As will the golden-age communities mentioned earlier. (Although these places also provide a greater choice in the used golf cart market.)

When in the market for bargains on golf carts, there are several factors to keep in mind. But finding just the right cart can add pleasure to the great pastime of golf and may be the means to a whole new neighborhood transportation vehicle for you!

Choose Public Golf Courses

Choose Public Golf Courses

If you’re a golf beginner, you want to play golf at good golf courses but you can’t afford to the expensive golf courses just as you just afford to discount golf equipment. It’s a very good idea because there are probably several public golf courses near you, just like the big and much cheaper too!

Naturally, the first thing you want to check into a public golf course itself. To find out how many holes it has – some courses only 9 and playing only 18 holes of golf, you will almost double. Walk a few holes and take a look at the stadium. Check if maintained in good condition. The Greens and even teddy? Is bearable first? Seems like repairing holes regularly divot; There’s nothing more discouraging for a beginner golfers a course that land too hard, just because of poor maintenance. While poorly maintained courses can offer plenty of entertainment – you know, you look funny when you swing away on a retreat – not to offer so much to keep a good experience for a beginning golfer as well as physically. You can buy a set of Ping to play.

This adds another thing to consider, the cost of a cycle. Here are some important differences in the cost of education in many public golf courses offer reduced rates at certain times of day and during the low season. For example, public golf courses in Phoenix, Arizona, the City Golf, sometimes called discount prices up to 50 percent during the hot summer months.

Then, a few extras to be very helpful to your game! Most beginners spend too much time on the green box and not enough time for the green box. Make sure you find the program has a range of appropriate behavior. No matter if you can putt like a pro, if you run from six strokes to the green on an equal footing 3 holes to get. Green and driving range and practice, you will find a public golf course that has a chipping green and warehouse operation. All these are characteristics that make them particularly problematic areas in your game you and that is what it is all.

Finally, see the club. No, I do not know if the bartender or waitress is very cute. Find out if the course has a shop pro, and if a golf pro runs. Ask about qualifications – most of us believe in the words golf pro and immediately think PGA, but not everything is listed advantages Golf PGA. Incidentally, all the advantages of golf is extremely well qualified to teach. Ask if lessons offered or if a school associated with the golf course. This can be a significant advantage when trying to improve your golf swing and know you do not know what is wrong. And of course, the cost of education.

to buy the secret to finding a good public golf course nearby. Check out several courses in your area and if not included in various Who’s Who Cares public courses. But you do your homework and choose the most suitable for your needs. Then you can take PING G10 Fairway Wood to practise.
And remember – a bad choice, you will have the same effect as the Hank Aaron, the famous baseball player who said: I gave 17 years to 3000 visits, but I have to spend an afternoon on the golf course!

Golf Instruction, Types Of Grip

Golf Instruction, Types Of Grip

If you want to perform a perfect swing, a right way to grip is crucial. Don’t blame it on your discount golf equipment if they always slip in your hands. No matter which type of grip you choose, the fundamentals are that your hands should be as a single unit to grip the club neither too tightly nor too loosely. And before learning other advanced golf tips, you should look at different types of grip.

Overlapping Grip
This grip is also known as the Vardon overlap and is the most preferred grip among great players. It was Harry Vardon who made this grip famous somewhere in the late 1990s. Most golf instructors choose to teach this grip to youngsters. For this grip, you will have to place your little finger of the hand below, between the middle and index finger of the hand above. The thumb of the above hand should be placed in the lifeline of the hand below.

Interlocking Grip
This is another common grip use by famous golfers including Tiger Woods. The name comes from the fact that your hands interlock when you hold your golf clubs this way. Golfers with small hands or weak forearms prefer the interlocking grip. Chances of the stick handle slipping onto the palms are high with this grip. To hold this grip, the little finger of your hand below should be intertwined with the index finger of the hand above. The thumb of the hand above should be placed in the lifeline of the bottom hand.

Baseball Grip
Of all the three grips, the baseball or ten finger grip is the least preferred among golf instructors. There are though some advantages of the baseball grip as well. This grip is used by people having joint pains or small hands. Beginners are often taught this grip, as it is easier to learn compared to the other two. For this grip, hold the stick in the proper lead hand grip position and then position the little finger of the bottom hand near the index finger of the hand above. The thumb of the top hand should be covered with the lifeline of the hand below.

No matter which your leading hand is, just choose the way of gripping that fits you the most. And don’t blame your discount golf equipment, practise makes improvement.

First is how to find out the best one for yourself. Many golfers especially beginners hold the question that which the best golf drivers are today on the market. To be able to explain the best drivers are, you have to first understand a few things. Golfers are different from one another, and for some people one kind of golf drivers are the best, but for the others it is totally different.

The point is how you can choose the perfect golf driver for yourself. But problem has always been confusing many golfers, even the experienced. Golf Club Bag

Golf Club Bag

Every professional golfer will support the fact that a golf club bag is the most important piece of golf equipment after the golf club. It is very important because it can decrease the burden of carrying the golf clubs, golf tees, golf balls, golf shoes, and golf gloves around the golf course. There is no chance of backaches from a proper golf club bag. So the selection of the proper golf bag is very vital thing for a professional golfer. Here are some tips that can help you in selecting a good golf club bag.

First you need to choose what type of bag you want and will suit all of your needs at the same time. There are mainly two types of bags which are carry bag and cart bag. A carry bag is the most basic and common type of golf bag. Its size ranges from 5 to 8.5 inches in diameter and mostly weighs as little as 3.5 pounds. This type of bag is used if your game requires a lot of walking around the golf course. A cart golf bag is often preferred by golfers when walking is not allowed (Note that some golf courses prohibit walking). Cart bags are specifically carried on a golf cart or a buggy. For beginner golfers, a walking bag is the preferred type.

The golf bag is a very useful thing rather than just a fashion statement. You should find a golf bag which is comfortable for you. You need to check the straps if they perfectly fit your body frame and if they can be easily carried. Avoid buying low-quality golf club bags. Always try to buy bag from branded company as they are authentic. Most bags can carry up to 15 golf clubs but remember one thing some golf tournaments are strict on the number of golf clubs you are allowed to carry. You should always go for a waterproof golf club bag because at any time during your round of golf you may have to encounter the elements including rain.

Waterproof golf club bag is the ideal for the rainy season because it protects the inside material from rain. The most important thing to consider in buying your golf bag is its weight. Because the game requires you to walk most of the time, the weight of the bag can be a factor in your game performance, especially if you are already exhausted by its heavy weight even before teeing off. Opt for a lightweight golf bag that is sturdy enough to hold all your golf clubs and to protect them. Some bags often weigh less than 5 pounds. These are made of space-age materials such as graphite.

After all it is your golf club bag and you have to carry it so try to buy the bags which are suitable for you. Do remember they do come in various styles and sizes to match your style of game and personality. They are made to match every individuals demand regardless of what your choice might be.

What Golf Ball Is right For Me

What Golf Ball Is right For Me

Maybe using the same type golf balls as the PGA golf pros will improve your game…and maybe it won’t. You need to choose the golf ball that’s right for your own game. Choosing the wrong kind of golf ball can be a bigger handicap to your game than starting at the 19th hole. Choosing the right kind of golf ball can have you feeling like a Tiger, even if you don’t quite have his handicap.

Golf balls come in three styles: 2-piece, 3-piece, and high performance. 2-piece golf balls are designed for improving your distance, while 3-piece and high performance golf balls can typically help with accuracy.

The 2-piece golf balls are especially good if you’re just starting out or if you’ve played just enough to know you really want to give this sport a try. They’re also terrific for high handicap golfers who have been around a while. Hey, we can’t all be pros! These are the most common type on the market and usually less expensive than 3-piece balls. Best of all, the large rubber core provides faster speed off the tee for those of you with a slow swing. In turn, that gives you greater distance.

It could happen that the first time you played, everyone was astounded at the way you slammed that little white ball with the power of a major league batter aiming for a grand slam. But that’s doubtful. Distance is usually developed over time as you develop your swing and find the groove. When you are just beginning, chances are you need to improve your accuracy more than your distance. Once you’ve developed your accuracy, then is the time to choose a golf ball and clubs that will help improve your distance.

If you haven’t developed consistent accuracy ? that is, having the ball consistently land in the same “general” area each time ? then the 3-piece golf ball probably isn’t right for you. It’s just not as forgiving of miss-hits as the 2-piece golf ball. The same goes for high performance balls. They’re pretty much designed for advanced golfers…and their price bears this out!

One factor to always be considered is cost. Simple, standard 2-piece golf balls usually come in 18-packs and are relatively inexpensive. The cost of golf balls may seem small in comparison to the overall cost of pursuing the sport but the inexperienced golfer can go through a lot of golf balls in a very short space of time!

The key, as with most golf equipment, is to choose the right kind of golf ball for your level of play. Consider your swing and your game, and then choose the ball that will help eliminate your weaknesses and build upon your strengths.

If you don’t choose the right golf ball for your level of play, your golf round might just become what Mark Twain once called it: “…a pleasant walk, spoiled”.

What’s In A Club Pro’s Golf Bag

What’s In A Club Pro’s Golf Bag

I have been playing golf as a professional for over 30 years and have used a lot of different companies during this time when choosing the right golf bag, golf glove, golf clubs, golf shoes etc etc. for my game.

I am not one of the tour pros who get paid vast amounts to endorse their products; I have to pay for mine albeit at a discount on the trade price. So this is not an advertisement for the company, it is my honest opinion as a Golf Professional on the quality of the golf gear I use.

The Titleist PROV-1 is without doubt the best golf ball I have ever used and has been in my golf bag for many years; in fact I think I have used a titleist golf ball for the past 20 years. When I first started playing it was a Dunlop 65 fresh out of the wrapper, for those of you too young to remember golf balls used to be packaged in a wrapper back in the 1970’s and before. My oh my doesn’t time fly by. Anyway where was I? Oh yeah, why the PROV-1? – Simple really, it goes a long way, flies high, stops on a sixpence and has a lovely soft feel for those shots around the green. Enough said.

I use a Titleist Players golf glove or a Footjoy Sta-Sof golf glove, both are made from high quality cabretta leather giving you a superb feel and they are very comfortable to wear. A lot of amateur golfers use the All-Weather glove or synthetic versions, but I have never liked the feel of them and although the leather golf glove costs a little bit more they are worth it. I know a few of you guy’s use the all-weather glove because it has an extra pad on the heel of the palm to help with wear and tear. Nearly every golf glove wears out there first, some quicker than others. But that is a fault of either your hold on the golf club, usually gripping the club too tightly at address and loosening your grip at impact, causing excessive wear and tear on your glove. But that’s another story, see your local pro and he will help with this.

My golf irons of choice are the Titleist Z-Blend Forged with a dynamic gold S shaft and tour velvet grip. They are a blended cavity to muscle back forged iron, which means that the long irons are cavity backed, the mid irons are a partial cavity and the short irons muscle back blade. This is a great idea and has been around for a few years now, help where needed in the longer irons gradually blending to a blade type short iron for that classic look and playability. I love these irons, they are great to look at and have a lovely feel off the club head. In my humble opinion you cannot beat a forged golf club head for exceptional feel and playability.

So there you have it, just a few of the things you will find in my golf bag. The best golf ball, the best glove, the best irons and the best golfer of all time using them. OK scrap that last comment, we can all dream.

Enjoy your golf, look after your golf equipment and if you are struggling with your game find a golf pro you like and respect and seek out some golf lessons from him. If you work at any changes in your game then you will benefit from them in the long run, if you don’t, then it will be just like all the other golf tips you have discarded as being useless.

Successful Golfers’ Secret Of Golf Swing(I)

Successful Golfers’ Secret Of Golf Swing(I)

I think may be some of you may think this title is more deceitful than great or some of you may have great hope in waiting for the following content. But I’ll tell you just read my article in a normal attitude. If you thought you will be suddenly enlightened in playing with your golf equipment after reading this, and then stop reading. If you thought you can be deceived after reading, then stop reading might be better for you. This article is just something or some saying I pick from some successful golf players, and this post is aimed at offers more a way for you to choose and decided whether this is fit for you.

There is one golf tip that is used by most professional players and very few ordinary amateurs. It makes a real difference to your game.

One of the key differences between professionals and ordinary amateurs is that when the professional decides to take a golf tip on board he really works at it. I mean to say if he/she took one’s new set of taylormade r9 irons to the course, he/she can gives it a lot of thought and stays with it for enough time to give it a chance to work.

The ordinary amateur on the other hand will hear a golf tip, give it a try and then probably discard it before they have given it a real chance. One of the most commonly used golf tips employed by top sports people in all fields is the mind movie. They rehearse exactly what they are going to do in their mind before they carry out the action.

They use a mind movie as a kind of software program to tell their muscles what to do and how to feel during their swing with their Callaway X-22 Tour Irons. Then, when they step up to the ball, all they have to do is go on to auto-pilot and a good, well-grooved swing reproduces itself.

This is a golf tip anyone can use.
