Which One You Will Choose, Used Golf Clubs or Brand New Ones?
Before you splurge your hard earned money in a used golf clubs store, let me show what the basics of golf clubs are. There are three major classifications of golf clubs. First is called the Woods, the second is called Irons. And the third is Putters.
Woods have bigger heads and longer shafts as these are designed to hit the ball in great distances. The longer the shaft, the faster the speed, and therefore the greater the impact of the club head with the ball. In the olden times, woods are actually made of real wood. However, as people progressed and advanced in science and technology, Woods are now also made of steel, titanium, and millennium materials such as carbon fiber. Woods are usually called play club, driver, spoon, cleek, baffy, or brassie. Irons, on the other hand, are designed with shorter shafts because these are used for strength, not speed. Golfers use irons if they need to hit a ball out of a trench or if there are obstacles such as trees. Irons are normally called mid-mashie, mashie, mashie-iron, mid-iron, niblick, and pitching niblick.
I know you will smirk at the prices of discount golf clubs nowadays. Golf balls alone will cost you dollars per dozen. And these golf balls will just get lost somewhere in golflandia. What you need to know is that you do not have to buy a brand new set of golf clubs. What is important is you know what type of club you need. Never buy any brand new golf materials or accessories if you are just a casual golfer. One mistake that people do is that they impulsively buy a brand new set of golf clubs and golf accessories, join golf clubs for sale or associations, pay all the fess, and so on. Later on they get tired of the game and put their golf gears to waste.
If you are a beginner, better test the water first. Buy used golf items in thrift shops and stores on sale. If you think you really like the game, you may advance to buying brand new golf gears. There are many golf stores that offer used golf clubs. The cost you will pay will matter much more than the quality and brand of the equipment.
For many professionals, though, what matters, of course, is the durability of the balls and the clubs. And it is only okay that they spend as much money as they can on their golf equipments since they already know what they need and they know the type of golfing equipments which will fit their golfing abilities.
