Golf Advice – Choosing the Best Golf Clubs

Golf Advice – Choosing the Best Golf Clubs

Any golf aficionado knows that a player’s chances of winning the game depends a lot on his choice of the perfect golf club. Because each hole in a 9 hole or 18 hole course has its unique characteristics, it only follows that the winning stroke can only be achieved by using the right golf club.

Knowing the speed and direction needed to get the ball in the hole is the best skill that a golfer should have in order to win the game. With each stroke comes a keen analysis of what it takes to get the ball in the hole – the distance, the angle of putting, the intensity of the swing and of course, the right golf club to use.

Golf clubs are classified according to the purpose they serve. There are irons, putters, woods and hybrid and the wedge. Some seasoned golf players will only use the best quality of clubs manufactured by well known yet expensive brands, such as Spalding and Callaway.

If you are a new golf player, you would want to invest on your first golf club set, as this will be your tools of the game. It may be quite difficult to know which ones will suit your game, and of course, your budget.

You could start by reading online reviews on different golf clubs to know the characteristics of each brand. Most professional golfers are just too willing to endorse the best clubs that they know can help amateur and pro golfers win the game. You can also check various golf forums on the internet where golfers would comment on what clubs work for them, and what don’t.

Those who have been playing golf for a long time and who can afford to splurge on their favorite sports, would sometimes have their own clubs customized for their own use. That puts them at an advantage because the clubs are made especially for them.

However, if you are just new at the game, consider what most golfers say through online reviews and forums about the different golf club brands, and go from there. You can try different brands at first, and settle for the one that suits you best.

Golf Accessories that all golfers should have

Golf Accessories that all golfers should have

Golf is a popular sport in the UK, popular enough that there is a large industry based around golf equipment and accessories., Many of these items may be vital such as clubs and golf bags whereas some others may be seen as non-essential. They are likely to be accessories that golfers may not need as a requirement but can help out on the course or even just serve as a bit of fun like novelty golf club covers.

One of the most important golf accessories for many is their golf bag. Many golf bags will come as just a bag that will stand upright, some though have two legs that flick out to allow you to put your bag down and make it stable so it doesn’t get knocked down in a high wind. The next step up from this is a trolley attachment. Some trolleys can seem expensive but many of them are now battery operated. Many older people will find playing golf with a battery operated trolley that little bit less arduous, saving them having to carry a large bag with a full set of golf clubs on board.

As well as golf bags and trolleys many golfers have other accessories such as golf shoe bags, a convenient way to store your golf shoes when you aren’t playing and saves having to look for them when you are due to play. Umbrellas for golf have always been popular, tending to be oversized and perfect for either carrying for protecting yourself as well as your golf bag too thus preventing your clubs from getting wet.

There are smaller accessories too that can help you benefit on the course. Special tees can be bought that minimize the contact with the ball; something golfers want to achieve as the less of the ball touching the tee then the cleaner their tee shot is going to be. In order to help you hit the ball better you can also buy new custom grips for your clubs. Getting customised club grips that are perfect for your swing is something most professionals do and can take some time to get right. Many club pros or golf shops will help you achieve the optimum performance from your clubs and fit your new grips for you.

There are many other golf products that can help you play better and also look after your clubs. Prevent Golf Grip Slippage In Wet Weather

Prevent Golf Grip Slippage In Wet Weather

Spring is on the way to come, but spring day is always full of cold and damp air. Is there anything worse than swinging a golf club and feeling the club slipping in your hands? Because if that happens you’re pretty much guaranteed a terrible golf shot. And unless you’re Tiger Woods it is very hard to stop the swing when you’re in the downswing of a golf swing.

I have no idea how Tiger does that! Anyway, if you’re playing in the rain then naturally the chances of your grip slipping as you make your golf swing go up as well.

But there are simple solutions to this problem which don’t have to cost you anything. And the first solution is a dry towel.

When you play golf, besides carry your golf equipment, you should at least carry 1 extra golf towel. Ideally you should carry two extra golf towels however. And if you’re getting hot and sweaty or it’s raining then before and after every golf shot you should be wiping your golf grips and hands with one of your dry towels. Also, if it’s raining you’ll obviously have your umbrella up so I suggest that you keep your towel under the umbrella to try and keep it dry for as long as you can. Then when your towel is not doing a good enough jobs then simply put it back in your golf bag and get another dry towel out.

Now here’s a neat trick. Every two or three holes simply get some sand from the bunkers (or from the little buckets they give you to put in divots) and rub some of the sand on your hands and on your golf grips. This will help to absorb the sweat and it will help you to keep a firm golf grip as you’re swinging. If you’re a women golfer you may prefer to take some talcum powder with you to the golf course and put this on your hands instead of sand.

So the next time you play a game of golf where it is possibly going to rain and humid…or heaven forbid….both at the same time! Then make sure you take at least two towels and try your best to keep them dry. Then every golf hole or two put some sand on your hands and on your grips. Doing these little things will help you to keep your golf grip secure as you’re swinging the golf club. Because again, there’s nothing worse than going to play a golf shot and having your hands feel as though they are going to slip on the golf grip, is there?

Golf Carts In Modern Society

Golf Carts In Modern Society

Golf Carts – So Many Uses

Nowadays golf carts are not just an item found only at the neighborhood golf course. Not anymore. No sir! In fact, a number of people, to include those who don’t even golf, are finding – and taking pleasure in – the numerous benefits of owning their own multipurpose golf cart.

Yes, the golf cart’s primary role is to travel the links with greater speed. They also help alleviate back issues related to hauling heavy golf clubs. Carts also help speed-up play. And to keep a fast game pace, many courses mandate cart use. Sorry, a brisk walk simply won’t do! No matter if walking is better for you, the pace of the game is paramount.

Today, many senior citizen communities are engineered to include an active life using the golf cart. All the streets within these residential communities are specifically made for its citizens to get around in a cart! Residents have the freedom to use their carts in safety to go shopping, dining, and attend to other appointments, all in the comfort of their cart. In fact, carts are rapidly becoming their second car.

Golf carts are becoming regular occurrences at retail stores, construction sites, school campuses, events in the community; practically any place where people need basic transportation. Carts are also a godsend if walking would be a challenge or simply takes up too much time to get from one end to another.

Golf Cart Classifications

Golf carts are typically categorized into two camps: electric and those that run on gas. They each have their selling points based on the projected use it’ll receive.

Electric powered carts are excellent for the golf course. There, most driving is done on asphalted or well cared for cart paths. The electric units usually generate an adequate amount of power to navigate any steep slopes on the course. (Most of the time!)

Advances in modern batteries have extended the operating life of the latest batteries. Competition in the industry has resulted in technology that permits their golf carts to operate with little maintenance. This is a huge plus for people who aren’t mechanically inclined!

A gas powered vehicle is useful for those that would like a cart that can power through any kind of terrain. Taking the cart ‘Baha’ or where the path ends requires more horsepower than electric models provide. Gasoline powered units have the strength to take you places electric model dare not tread.

Best – And Worse – Place To Buy A Cart

If you intend on buying a cart where golf is a popular activity, the costs for carts will be higher. Locations like the Carolinas will generally command prime dollar for golf carts. As will the golden-age communities mentioned earlier. (Although these places also provide a greater choice in the used golf cart market.)

When in the market for bargains on golf carts, there are several factors to keep in mind. But finding just the right cart can add pleasure to the great pastime of golf and may be the means to a whole new neighborhood transportation vehicle for you!

A Buying Guide for the Golfer in the Making

SunoGolf.com With the need for specific equipment and clothing, golf can be an expensive hobby. Besides the costs of clubs, clothing and balls, golfers also face green fees, which can be pretty hefty at times. Knowing where to shop and what constitutes as essential to the game can help beginners get a thrifty start in the sport. The following is a recommended list of basics, and tips on how to shop for golf equipment.

Golf Clubs & Sets

Learning and understanding the purpose of each club in your bag will assist you in making good buying decisions when investing in your next set of golf clubs. The swing test will be your ultimate guide, but these few helpful hints will assist you before you hit the Links.

** Basic golf sets will include a driver, 2 woods, and a set of eight irons (3 through 9, plus a pitching wedge). Hybrids, specially wedges and putters are usually sold separately.

Drivers – The #1 Wood (Driver) sports the largest head, lowest degree and longest shaft of all your clubs and therefore produces the furthest drives.  The distances you can achieve depend on the shaft flexibility you choose.
Woods – #3, #5 and #7 Woods are used off the fairway and are available in steel and graphite with both stiff and regular shafts.
Hybrids – Hybrid clubs were initially developed to replace harder to hit, long irons. With larger club heads similar to fairway woods, their deeper centre of gravity makes it much easier to hit the ball higher and farther. Shots tend to land more softly with less roll. Hybrids are available in woods and irons.
Irons – Irons are considered the core of the golf set and are available in two different styles.  The Blade is suited to the more experienced golfer as it provides greater ball control.  The Cavity Back is more appropriate for the mid to high handicapper as it picks up the ball more easily. SunoGolf, golf clubs for sale, discount golf clubs,www.sunogolf.com
Wedges – Wedges are used for achieving higher shorter shots and are essential to your set. The higher the loft on a club, the higher the ball will go, although distance will be compromised. Different types of wedges to consider for your set are: Pitching, Sand, Gap and Loft.
Putters – Putters come in two different styles.  Mallets sport a large rounded head and provide balanced weight for a more consistent putting stroke for less experienced golfers.  Blade putters are easily identified by their long, flat, narrow head and are popular among low handicappers. www.sunogolf.com  suno golf, golf clubs, discount golf ,golf clubs cheap
Ladies’ Golf Clubs:

Clubs specifically designed for ladies tend to be lighter for faster swings, and about an inch shorter than regular men’s clubs.  The shafts are usually more flexible than men’s clubs providing greater distance potential with less swing speed.
